4 Person Tents Reviews and
Bargains
Here are reviews and features of
the top rated 4 person tents on the market today. Before buying
a four man tent, you need to take into consideration a few
points.
What weather conditions will you be
camping in? If you are planning to hike and camp during the
spring, summer, and early fall months, then you'll be okay
buying one of the lightweight 3 season tents. If you'll be
camping in the extreme cold and snowy winter conditions, then
you really should go with a heavier-weight 4 season
tent.
With all that said, here are the best
4 person tents available today. The prices are those that I
encountered in my research. You may find them lower or higher
in your area.
Jeep 7x7 4-Person Sport Dome
Tent - The 7 foot by 7 foot floor area will give your
party over 47 square feet of floor space - for sleeping and
storage. With its 54 inches of vertical space and four-corner
ventilation system, you should have nice air circulation. It
features a nice size gear loft for storage, two windows, and an
easy set up with a clip and go style frame. This 3 season tent
is relatively light (11 pounds) for tents of this size.
Reviewers found the set up to be fast and easy. It proved to be
waterproof against rain showers. But some reviewers found it
might not sleep 4 grown adults without being cramped -
especially if you have gear to store too.

Wenzel Ponderosa -
This lightweight (11 pounds) 4 person tent is very roomy - 10
feet by 8 feet and 60 inches of head room. With the removable
divider, you can make 2 rooms out of it - or get some privacy.
The fiberglass frame and pin and ring connectors make set-up
and take-down relatively simple. The seams are protected with
armor-tough to help keep the rain and wetness out. It is ready
for Spring, Summer and Fall - 3 seasons, and features 3 windows
and 2 doors. Reviewers say that it has room for two twin
airbeds and space left over. It will fit four adults just fine
if they are in sleeping bags. Many reviewers were less than
impressed with the included stakes - they had to purchase
better quality ones.
Price - $60
Kelty Grand Mesa -
This 4 man tent is built for 3 seasons. It's a dome-style with
over 53 square feet of floor space and 4 feet 7 inches of head
room. You can store plenty of gear in the 18.8 square foot
storage vestibule. The 3 large, mesh windows provide plenty of
ventilation on hot summer nights. The color coded aluminum
poles allow for quick and easy set-up and the bathtub style
floor will help keep moisture out and dryness in. It weighs
only 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Reviewers say that the tent is easy to
pitch and break down. And it does a good job of keeping the
rain out. Many reviewers say that it would be pretty cramped to
try and fit 4 adults in the tent. It would work better with 2
or 3 adults and a child.

during all 4 seasons with its wind-tunnel tested corners and

design. Reviewers found it to be rain and snow proof and roomy
enough for 4 average sized adults. They also found it
relatively easy to put together and lightweight considering the
heavy-duty construction.
