1 Person Tent Reviews and
Deals
Are you looking for reviews and
deals on a 1 person tent? Well, you've come to the right place.
This article will tell you about some of the most popular and
highest rated solo tents available today.
Before buying a 1 man tent, be sure
and decide what weather conditions you might be encountering.
You want to choose the right tent for the right situation. A 3
season tent will serve you well during spring, summer, and
early fall - but might not hold up to heavy snow and extreme
freezing temperatures. If you see yourself camping in extreme
winter conditions, then you really should go with a 4 season
tent.
Eureka Solitaire Tent
- This 1 person, 3 season tent is a great choice for the
backpacker who wants to carry as little extra weight as
possible - it weighs only 2 lb. 9 oz. It sets up quick and easy
with 2 poles, pole pockets and ring and pin. It is not
freestanding, so you'll have to stake this tunnel design tent
into the ground. The floor space is 2 feet x 8 feet (21 square
feet) and the headroom is 2 feet 4 inches. Reviewers found it
to large enough to sleep in (even for people over 6 feet tall),
but very little room for anything else. Most people have to
store their gear outside. They also found it a challenge to get
in and out of. Many reviews found it held up well to rain and
wind, but there were a few problems with the fiberglass poles
reported.

Eureka Solo Spitfire
Tent - This 3 season tent allows plenty of floor space
(over 18 square feet) and head room (40 inches) for one person
- with some room left over for gear and wiggle room. The side
door makes entry and exit very convenient and the weight (2 lb.
12 oz) makes carrying it in your backpack fairly easy. There
are plenty of mesh panels throughout the tent for plenty of air
flow and circulation during the hot summer months, and the
bathtub floor keep the seams well off the ground for maximum
dryness. It is easy to put up and take down with the side
release buckles. The storage vestibule is over 4 square feet
for boots and a couple of extras. Most reviewers found it roomy
enough for all but the largest campers - with a little space
left over for gear storage. There was much praise for its
ability to stand up to rain and winds - and there were few
complaints of moisture getting inside the tent.

Eureka Solo Backcountry 1
Tent - This 3 season tent is self-supporting and
lightweight (3 pounds, 14 oz). It's quick and easy to set up
with two poles and clip attachments. With 8 feet x 3 feet of
floorspace (24 square feet) and 38 inches of headroom - there's
room enough for a full-grown adult with space left over. There
are two mesh ends for good ventilation; the side opening door
allows easy entry and exit; and the bathtub floor with taped
seams helps to keep moisture out and dryness in. Reviewers
found it to be plenty roomy - and some reviewers were well over
6 feet tall. They said that it was easy to set up and take down
and stood up pretty well to cold temperatures, steady rains,
and wind (if staked properly).

Hilleberg Akto - This
heavy-duty 4 season, 1 person tent will keep you protected in
the harshest of climates with its combination inner and outer
tent system. The inner and outer tents can be linked and
unlinked depending on the weather conditions. There are vents
at both ends of the inner tent for great air circulation and
they connect to a vent in the outer tent kind of like a
chimney. It weighs 3 lbs, 5 oz; has over 18 square feet of
floor space; 3 feet of headroom; and an over 8 square foot
storage vestibule. Reviewers found it to be extremely easy to
set up and take apart. It provided great protection from even
extreme weather conditions. The inside is plenty roomy for a
grown adult, with a little room left over. The only real
negative I could find in the reviews were that it was a little
on the heavy side - but that's to be expected from a heavy-duty
4 season tent.
